Cyberspace can be lots of fun, but there are also real dangers, specially for children and young people. Knowing about the dangers and how to deal with team, gibes you the power to stay safe Online . Use that power, be cyber smart and make surfing the net a positive experience.

Here are 10 cyber rules to help you. They are based on the online experience of millions of kids
worldwide

1.ever give out personal information :-
such as your full name, Phone no., address, email address, school name or any information about family or friends to people you are chatting with online. You never know where it will end up, what it will be used for and who will contact you. It can be copied and can stay online forever.

2. Always tell your parents or someone you trust:-
If you experience anything that makes you uncomfortable, like bad and upsetting language, offensive picture or someone trying to be very friendly and offering gifts all the time. If you do feel uncomfortable about speaking to your parents, share your experience with an adult that you trust. 3. Be very careful about what you say and post:-
About yourself (or your friends ) in chat rooms or other public places like social networking sites. Once it is out there, it is out there , it is public and you can not take it back. Anyone can change (morph) pictures and send them anywhere. If you have your own profile online ( like on HI5, Face book, twitter, my space, Google buzz) make sure you limit access to people you know and trust. Sharing (provocative) pictures and intimate details online (even in emails) can cause problems later on. People, who are your friends today, can become ex-friends and can use this info against you. Also chat sessions can be saved and misused. Be careful how you present yourself to the outside world, even to your friends friendship.

4. Remember, that online people often lie about who they are
Someone who says he's 14 years old girl might in reality be a 45 years old man. Some People might act nice only to get something from you. Real between the lines: flattering or supportive messages may be more about manipulation than friendship.

5.Meeting someone you only met online can be dangerous.
Remember, some people are not who they say they are. It can be difficult to remember that someone is still a stranger, if you have been chatting with him/her a lot and he/her feels like a good friend. Never agree to meet anyone in person, alone, If you must meet, check with your parents first. Make sure you meet in a public place and bring one of your parents or a trusted adult with you.

6. Never respond to nasty, suggestive (sexual solicitations) or rude emails or postings.
In chat rooms, stay in the public area, avoid going private. if you feel uncomfortable in a chat room, you can leave with an email you can choose not to respond. Remember it is not your fault and you can always switch off the computer and talk to someone, Like supervisor of the cybercafé. learn how to block people who behave badly.

7. Never give your internet password to anyone:-
Not even to your best friend, Boy friend/girl friend. you never know where its ends up and who will be hacking your accounts.

8. Be a good online citizen and treat others as you would like to be treated yourself:-
Even if you don’t' see it, you can hurt others really badly with nasty behaviors. People who bully or harass others are at greater risk of being bullied themselves. Don't contribute to this vicious circle.

9. Never accept emails, Instant massages ( like on yahoo Messenger), or open files, Pictures or texts from people you don't know.
They may contain viruses, inappropriate images or nasty messages and link to inappropriate sites.

10. Information you find on the internet may not be true:-
Information you find on the internet may not be true because any body can write anything online. Always be skeptic and check the information you find online with other websites, books or people who know, to make sure it is true.
